Danh's 7 S's of Capable Home Robots

1) Significance
- It does truly useful things to help us at home.

2) Simplicity
- Designed with enough inventive restraint to make it affordable by someone who has a good job. Life is too short to waste on robots no one can afford.

3) Sustainability
- The robot system fosters a community of responsible owners who are passionate about its continued use. There is enough of a value proposition to allow the robotic solutions to survive long term.

4) Safety
- It must be safe and when it fails, it fails in a safe manner. Imagine the robot as your powerful desktop computer that now has wheels and arms. This computer is capable of interacting with real physical objects - like that brand new stainless steel fridge in your kitchen. With this new physical ability comes the risk of physical harm to things like people, pets and objects. The robot owners, users and bystanders  must be educated about proper safety practices and safety guide lines must be put in place.

5) Security
- Unauthorized access and use of the robot must be prevented. A computer based robot that is connected to the Internet can be exposed to all the same viruses and malware that can harm today's computers. A hacker could now gain physical access to the inside of your home through a security breached robot.

6) Sociability
-The robot connects with living things in an interactive and emotional way.

7) Style

-The robot design combines form with function.
