Portable Robot Command Center

I picked up this aluminum case from a local surplus store for only $50. The case was pretty dirty but I was able to remove unwanted markings using fine sand paper and water.

I made some flat aluminum plates that were attached to the bottom of the laptop using double sided tape.

The plates had mounting holes and were attached to the plastic base plate of the case using screws. At the time, this was the best method I could come up with for securing the laptop and yet still make it easily removable.

This is a front view of the case with an old Pentium 120 mHz laptop for control. It still has enough horsepower for video capture and serial port control. The test control GUI was written in Visual Basic for Windows.
